As the dental profession continues to evolve, there is a growing emphasis on the role of health economics in shaping program planning and policy development. This webinar will explore the fundamental principles behind economic evaluations, including cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and cost-benefit analyses, and how these tools are applied to assess the economic viability of oral health care programs and interventions. The webinar will also explore a real-world example and share preliminary findings of an economic evaluation of a dental care program providing comprehensive free of cost oral health services to individuals with financial barriers to care.

- Analyze the importance of health economics in influencing and shaping policy decisions.
- Differentiate and compare the different types of economic evaluations.
- Evaluate the cost-effectiveness and policy implications of implementing a comprehensive dental care program.
