Suspension of Fellowship/Membership
Fellows and Members who do not complete the payment of their Annual Dues by the prescribed deadline, or who voluntarily decide to withdraw from the College, will be subject to the suspension of their Fellowship or Membership. Suspension entails the following:
- Depending on the time of year, any or all of the following notices may be received by the member after they indicate their desire to stop their membership
- Invoice for Annual Dues
- Reminder 1
- Reminder 2
- Reminder 3
- Notice of arrears
- Notice of suspension
- On the suspension deadline, if the invoice for the Annual Dues remains unpaid, the member’s account will be suspended, and a penalty will be added to the dues’ amount
- the member must cease the use of the FRCDC or MRCDC designation
- the member will lose access to the benefits that accompanied their membership
- If the member remains suspended for more than one year, the dues amounts for any subsequent year will be added to the total of the member’s outstanding invoice. The penalty for late payment is only added once, after the initial suspension
- The member may remain suspended for a maximum period of 5 years
- The member may be reinstated at any time within this five-year period, following the payment of all outstanding dues and penalties
- RCDC will typically send a communication once a year to update suspended members with the latest news from the College, and to encourage them to pursue reinstatement
- Should the member remain suspended for more than 5 years, their Fellowship or Membership would be revoked
- Once revoked, in order to be reinstated, a member would need to submit a special request for reinstatement to the Board of Directors. Conditions for reinstatement may include a requirement to challenge the Fellowship Examination

At any time, suspended members may ask to stop receiving any and all email communications by submitting a written request to membership@rcdc.ca, indicating that they understand the penalties for remaining suspended, and do not wish to receive any further emails from RCDC.
