Life-Active and Retired Fellowship or Membership
In September of 2024, the Board of Directors of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada approved the creation of two new categories of Fellowship/Membership.
Life-Active
Definition
Life-Active Fellows and Members:
- Hold a license
- Have reached the age of 70 or have been part of the College for at least 30 years
Benefits
Life-Active Fellows and Members:
- Are eligible for a 50% reduction in their annual dues
- Retain any voting rights previously held
- Retain any previous eligibility to be an Examiner or Committee member, if called
Retired
Definition
Retired Fellows and Members
- Are completely retired, and no longer derive any income from dentistry
- No longer hold a license in any jurisdiction, worldwide
Benefits
Retired Fellows and Members
- Do not pay any annual dues
- Do not have voting rights within the College
- Retain any previous eligibility to be an Examiner or Committee member, if called
How can I apply?
Fellows and Members in good standing can apply for Life-Active or Retired Fellowship or Membership through their online member portal. Applications are accepted a maximum of 6 months before a Fellow or Member becomes eligible for a change in their status.
