Fellowship

The FRCDC and MRCDC designations continue to be a source of pride as well as a distinction that sets a dental specialist apart. Since being a Fellow or Member within the College is optional, dental specialists who have earned it, have demonstrated a higher level of commitment to their specialty and have shown that they are individuals who strive for excellence in every facet of their professional lives.

A Fellow of The Royal College of Dentists of Canada means a person who has met the conditions for membership in the Corporation as determined by the Board, and uses the designation FRCDC.

A Member of The Royal College of Dentists of Canada means a person who has met the conditions for membership in the Corporation as determined by the Board, and who uses the designation MRCDC.

A Life Fellow or Life Member means a Fellow or Member who is fully retired from active practice and has been exempted from paying membership dues by the Board. This designation is no longer granted, having been replaced by Life-Active and Retired Fellowship/Membership.

A Life-active Fellow or Life-active Member means a Fellow or Member who continues to hold a license, and who has either reached the age of 70 years, or who has been a member of the College for a minimum of 30 years.

A Retired Fellow or Retired Member means a Fellow or Member who has retired and given up any license they previously held, and has been exempted from paying membership dues by the Board.
