Webinar: The CDCP at One Year: What We’ve Learned About Access to Care
April 28, 2026 8 PM ET
The Royal College of Dentists of Canada would like to invite you to the next session of our monthly webinar series on April 28, 2026 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
More than a year after the full launch of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), the profession is beginning to see early patterns in enrolment, provider participation, and service utilization. At the same time, longstanding barriers to accessing dental care persist, and new challenges have emerged as the program continues to evolve. This one‑hour webinar will provide an evidence‑informed examination of the current access‑to‑care landscape, drawing on available CDCP data and real‑world experiences from across the country. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the program’s early impact, the pressures facing patients and providers, and the outstanding issues that require attention as the CDCP matures. The session will conclude with a moderated Q&A.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify key barriers that continue to limit access to dental care in Canada, including geographic, financial, administrative, and workforce‑related factors.
- Interpret available CDCP data to understand early trends in enrolment, utilization, and provider participation.
- Evaluate the emerging challenges and unresolved issues associated with the CDCP’s implementation and its impact on patient care.
- Discuss opportunities for improving access to care as the program evolves, informed by evidence and practitioner experience.
