Registration is free for Fellows and Members.
Fellows and Members have until August 18, 2023 to register.
The Continuing Education day, the Convocation Ceremony, the Annual General Meeting and the Gala Dinner all take place at the Marriott Montréal Château Champlain in Montréal.
We will not be holding virtual or online sessions. The event is designed to favour in-person networking.
As a Fellow or Member, Life Fellow or Member, and New Fellow convocating on September 24 the cost to reserve your space for the Continuing Education Day is $50. This fee will be reimbursed or given to a recognized charity if you attend.
As a Resident enrolled in Dental Specialty Training Programs, the cost to attend is $50.
As a Dental Specialist that is not a Fellow, the cost to attend is $399, which is non-refundable.
The College will issue attendees a letter confirming the number of hours for the Continuing Education Day.
The Annual Dinner Gala is free for Fellows and Members. Guests are welcome, however there is a $150 fee for each person.
The AGM will be streamed live via the Zoom platform, and it is possible for you to virtually attend.
There are no obligations on your part. You are welcome to attend any one event or all of the events.
You may use the designation of Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC) once your name has been called from the register during the Convocation Ceremony.
No, attending Convocation is not mandatory. You automatically become a Fellow once your name has been read from the register during the Convocation Ceremony.
It depends. If you cannot attend the 2023 Convocation in-person, you have the option of becoming a Fellow in absentia, or deferring your Fellowship to a future year with no penalty.
If you become a Fellow in absentia, your name will be read during the Convocation Ceremony on September 23, 2023, and you will immediately begin to enjoy the benefits of Fellowship. In this case, you will not be able to walk the stage and obtain your Certificate in any future Convocation Ceremony, since you will already be a Fellow of the College.
If you prefer, you may instead defer obtaining your Fellowship until you are able to attend in-person. In this case, your name will not be read during the Convocation Ceremony in September 2023, and you will not become an RCDC Fellow right away. Please note that you will not need to repeat the Fellowship Examination – your ‘PASS’ mention will remain valid.
